Wintertime fun for you and your family  

Rain in the Bay Area means there’s SNOW in the mountains! Time to hit the slopes! Did you know?

• You can RENT snow gear (yes, even base layers and kids’ clothes) at your local Sports Basement or via Kit Lender? No need to buy one-size-up every year (then try to sell it), just rent and return. You’ll also be helping the planet and your pocketbook. 

• Tahoe is not the only place that has snow! Mammoth Mountain, or even Park City, Utah, could be great options to change things up for your family.

Here are some ideas to help you plan a budget-friendly ski vacation:

• Choose a lesser-known ski resort (for example: Bear Valley Mountain Resort).

• Ski/snowboard during the week, at the beginning or end of the season.

• Look for ski/snowboard vacation packages (bundling lift tickets + lodging to save on both).

• Look for special promotions: some resorts will offer “kids ski free” days with 2 night stay.
